CNPPID will no longer be issuing Permit Notices of Approval on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for shoreline work. As of January 1, 2020, Central customers need to acquire permits from both Central and directly from the USACE Nebraska regulatory office. The permit from Central ensures compliance with Central’s requirements as well as those of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. A permit from USACE ensures compliance with Clean Water Act requirements. USACE and Central/FERC permitting requirements can be different, and both must be met. Customers should contact Central for its requirements before seeking a permit from USACE.
