McConaughy: A Geographic Portrait
Lake McConaughy books are now available at the Keith
County News, at lake concessionnaires, or by mail order. Books are
$30 each and are available while supplies last. The book presents
a complete history of Lake McConaughy and Kingsley Dam from the
original idea, through construction years, to the present.
Manuscript written by Robert Richter, who won the 2000 Literary
Achievement Award presented by the Nebraska Arts Council. Richter
has published five books, including novels and Nebraska historical
pieces. The book also contains more than 100 photographs provided
by The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District, the
Nebraska State Historical Society, the late Frank Swan, the late
Hubert LeZotte, Jack Pollock, Jeff Headley and Gwen Merrill.
