Johnson Lake Level to Drop During Maintenance Project at J-2 Hydro

(HOLDREGE, Neb.) -- Johnson Lake levels will begin falling on April 9 as The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District makes preparations for replacement of an oil circuit breaker at the Johnson No. 2 Hydroplant below the lake south of Lexington.

The lake's level will begin falling on the morning of April 9 as Central creates space to store water while the hydroplant is off-line. The water level will drop three feet from current levels to around elevation 2614.0 feet (above mean sea level) by midnight on April 11.

The water level will then begin to rise and should return to normal levels by April 28.
